Investing to Preserve Our Environment and Our Culture The Muckleshoot Tribe’s acquisition of more than 96,000 acres of working forestland in King, Pierce and Lewis counties was another important step toward our goals of reacquiring portions of our homeland and diversifying our economy. The Tribe will manage this land primarily for longterm sustainable timber harvest while also preserving natural values including fish and wildlife habitat, plant resources and areas of cultural importance.
