2014 TEAM PREVIEWS The Seattle Seahawks are still flying high as defending Super Bowl champs, but a new season means the other teams have re-tooled (the Seahawks included) in an effort to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 2015. We pored through every NFL team to assess their chances of glory in our in-depth analysis. FOR THE RECORD Whether these 10 sacred NFL records get shattered or further cement themselves deeper in the history books, we can all agree that watching and speculating who could possibly approach these storied marks is half the fun. CONTINUED SUCCESS The secret to winning in today’s NFL doesn’t involve a quarterback who can pass for 5,000 yards, a running back who can grind out 2K yards or even a stingy defense. While those things certainly help, recent history has shown that the key to Super Bowl glory is to field a roster that have spent time in the trenches together. OPTION TO WIN It’s a regular occurrence in the NFL: Quarterbacks fleeing the line of scrimmage, ball tucked in their arm and taking to foot for yardage. While there might be more plays being called for the QB to take off and an abundance of athletic and fleet-of-foot signal callers in the NFL, the option read is giving coaches precisely that: another option. DEPTHS OF SUCCESS Super Bowl XLVIII epitomized what every successful NFL team today needs. In a game between a Denver Broncos offense that featured a seemingly endless supply of receivers to haul in passes from Peyton Manning against an equally deep, up-to-the-task secondary in Seattle’s “Legion of Boom,” the battle for the supremacy demonstrated that winning knows no depths.
